Does anyone know of any good cigars for sale online? I have been looking around the web, but there are so many out there, I don’t know who to go with. My boyfriend loves smoking cigars, and I know he is pretty specific about the ones that he wants. I don’t know of a convenient store around us that sells them. I have only seen cigars like swishers and black n milds, but I don’t see his brand. Other places that I have found them, they seem to be really expensive. My worry is that I will not be able to find these locally by his birthday. I am wondering if buying them online will be reasonable and will I get them shipped to me in a reasonable time. I have never bought cigars online before, so I am hoping that I don’t get burned. I still have a few weeks before his birthday, and really want to get his favorite cigars. He probably thinks that I don’t even know the kind that he smokes. And that would have been true a few days ago, but I snuck a look at his box and wrote it down when he was at work. I think this will be a terrific surprise if I am able to get them. I don’t know why I am even doing it, because I hate the smell of them. But, I have told him to quit many times and he just laughs at me. I want him to be happy and I think if I can find his cigars for sale, this will be the best, most surprising gift he has gotten from me ever. I would appreciate any input.
Looking for a Good Cigar
April 30th, 2010Try Out White Owl Stogies
April 6th, 2010White Owl Cigars have been around for many many years and I have smoked them for as long as I can remember. I found an article from July 1932 about the General Cigar company, which manufacturer’s White Owls. At the time, these machine made cigars were being sold at seven cents. And that price was a bit to high for cigar smokers of that day. The median price of a machine made was about 5 cents. Many people went to General to make them reduce their price down to five cents. Not only did they want the price reduced, but they didnot want the smoke to be changed at all . They wanted the same size and quality filler at a lower cost. White Owl cigars are made with the most costly filler that the US grows and is a quality cigar that some aficionado’s didn’t care paying one or two extra cents. Many managers of the company were not ready to modify the price, they would be making the lowest profit from the change and other corporations using scraps and damaged ends of tobacco would still be making a high profit margin, for less superior cigars. In the end, the decision was made to low the prices, but keeping the tradition of great long filler and over sized cigars. Once the reduction was put into effect, the company broke records for quick increase in consumption. They managed to do this with arranged production and vast output. I just wish they still only cost five cents per cigar, that would save me a lot of money, i think i would be alright with paying the seven cents too.
How to keep your Stogie in Ideal Condition
March 17th, 2010For folk who smoke stogies, it can turn into something of a hang-up. As the Days go buy, cigar smokers often develop precise rituals that they stick to each time they smoke a stogie, and can be quite particular about how they store their cigars. If you are not privy to this obsession of smoking the ‘perfect’ cigar, then you also possibly do not understand the need for a cigar humidor. The basic point of a cigar humidor is to both store and protect cigars. Many cigar enthusiasts believe that cigars have to be stored at a particular temperature in order to keep their top flavor. That’s’s exactly what the cigar humidor does – maintains a constant temperature. You shouldn’t have to store machine made cigars like your Black and Milds in a humidor. Opinions vary, but it’s’s typically believed the range between 68 and seventy degrees Fahrenheit is perfect for cigars. The humidity also needs to be controlled, and kept at a level around 70-72% humidity. Cigar backers have long debated about the best temperature needed for the storing of cigars. Some insist that even a slight fluctuation in temperature can prove deleterious to the flavor of their cigars, and insist on a temperature of seventy degrees Fahrenheit. Others are a bit more flexible and allow a slight amount of temperature fluctuation. Usually they all agree the lower the temperature, the quicker the cigar will age, which will then bring about a decrease in flavor. If you want to maintain the flavor, integrity and colour of your fave smokes, then a cigar humidor is essential. What features should you look for when purchasing a cigar humidor? The one essential feature is that it has to be absolutely closed once the lid is shut. If the lid isn’t snug and secure, then it’s possible the temperature or humidity inside will fluctuate. A lid that’s’s tight also inhibits any other outside elements contaminating the cigars, and prevents any moisture exchange. It’s useful if the inside of the cigar humidor is smooth and uninterrupted, to stop snagging of cigars ( or fingers ). It’s also handy to have fittings inside the humidor to help in the keeping of the smokes.
What is inside a Miami Cigar?
February 23rd, 2010The bulk of Miami Suites Cigars are made from fillers; wrapped-up bunches of leaves inside the wrapper. Fillers of various strengths are usually mixed to produce desired cigar tastes. In the cigar industry this is referred to as a “blend”. Many cigar manufacturers pride themselves in constructing the perfect blend (s) that may give the smoker the most pleasure. The more oils present in the tobacco leaf, the stronger (less dry) the filler. Types go from the minimally flavored Volado taken from the base of the plant, thru the light-flavored Seco (dry) taken from the middle of the plant, to the strong Ligero from the higher leaves exposed to the most sunlight. Fatter cigars of larger gauge hold more filler, with larger potential to provide a full body and complex flavor. When used, Ligero is always folded into the middle of the filler as it burns slowly.
Just Days to the Tobacco Exile
December 29th, 2009All Right, my town has approved a smoking ban for all public building, with only minimum allowances. I’m so tired of my human rights being revoked, I’m ill. I do not understand the reason non-smokers have such a stong opinion on what us smokers do. I understand that smoking is harmful, but I made a conscience choice when I began smoking, aware of the fact it was bad. Just because non-smokers want me to give it up, doesn’t mean that it is going to happen. Smoking in restaurants has been a privilage, but most restaurants provide a chosen smoking room. If non-smokers don’t want to be in the smoke, don’t sit in the smoking room, you are not unwilling made to sit in that section. And as well as the jobholers of these restaurants that say they are affected by second hand smoke, I don’t believe it. I held jobs in the service industry for over 10 years, and I know that most of thefellow workers were smokers. Interacting with people, always, compels you to inhale. Personally, I have never heard one non-smoking co-worker ever complain about smoking while at work in the smoking room. Putting a smoking prohibition in restaurants and bars, can only save me money, because I refuse to eat out after the the new year.

Cigar: Information for the typical cigar smoker
November 18th, 2009The simplest method of categorizing cigars is by the method in which they are made. Cigars are either rolled by hand, or manufactured by machines. The newer smoker may be tempted to start by trying those machine made brands sold in Drug Stores, such as Dutch Masters. However, the Novice Smoker should consider spending a few more pennies and moving up to hand rolled cigars, which are sold online or at a local tobacco retailer.
Heavy smokers Vs Connoisseurs
TypicalIndividual cigar smokers have their own specific tastes, and have their own individual bugeting. Those who like smoking multiple cigars per day may need an “everyday” cigar that is cheap. Therefore, the taste and cost of machine made cigars can be very attractive to some smokers. However, to the new smoker or experienced connoisseurs, the ones who enjoy an occasional cigar as a special treat, the hand rolled cigar is worth every penny.
